key mutations
Мутации главные — мутации, которые в отличие от т. н. мутаций малых вызывают значительные фенотипически выраженные отклонения как морфологического, так и физиологического характера, т. е. кодируют качественные признаки. В большинстве случаев М. г. снижают жизнеспособность (см. Мутации жизнеспособности) особей или действуют летально (см. Летальные факторы), особенно в гомозиготном состоянии. Между М. г. и малыми мутациями имеются все переходы.
